Magnetic Shielding of an Internet Warehouse Facility

VitaTech Engineering performed an AC ELF EMF Study and Shielding Assessment of an internet warehouse facility under construction in Georgia and was contracted in install, test and certify an AC extremely low frequency magnetic shield..

An emf assessment of the overall floor designs, electrical service placement and configuration, and the average and seasonal peak load electrical conditions was performed. This information was used to provide a magnetic shield design for this facility.

In September 2000, An 18,600 sq.ft. magnetic shield was installed along the interior walls of the PDU Substation Train, two Electrical Distribution Rooms and two Chiller Plant Rooms. The shield complied with a 10mG magnetic flux density shielding performance requirement measured 1-meter from the shielded walls in over 95% of the shielded area.
